The Nri Post is a reputed news agency that provides views, news, and analysis on the Chinese belt and road initiative. The guidelines of Nri Post describes the standards, values, and practices that we follow in our journalism. The guidelines of Nri Post is a living document that will evolve and mature as we continue to work in the journalism field. 

The five core values that guides our work include: independence, accuracy, collaboration, transparency, and fairness. All of our employees are accountable for ensuring that our lives up to these work ideals. 

The Nri Post constituents, listeners of the podcasts, publication readers, and video viewers are the vital stakeholders in our entire ethics process. Nri Post is sharing the guidelines to share the goals and aspirations that guide us to work harder and offer transparency and accuracy.

Nri Post, as a news agency, promotes integrity and excellence in the practice of craft. As a publishing, we aim to practice journalism that we preach to others. We offer all forms of journalism – TV, video, digital, audio, print, and other news media forms that might be helpful.

  • Accuracy 

Nri Post ensures that every fact and information published is true and accurate. It includes the spelling of names and the debatable/nuanced aspects such as characterizations of political agendas. Nri Post aims to be inclusive in the coverage so that we can cover and reflect wide ranging experiences and perspectives. Nri Post also encourages experimentation and creativity in work.  We remain unwavering in our commitment to transparency and accuracy. 

In practice: We maintain high standards of writing, reporting and editing to produce error-free work. Nri Post also creates and edits the piece of journalism in varied ways aimed at reducing errors, anticipating problem areas, and correcting those as transparently and swiftly as we can. Our endeavor is to provide concise corrections, timely responses, and protuberant acknowledgments that an error was made and addressed. Nri Post credits the creators and authors of the varied forms of journalism it circulates/publishes. Nri Post also ensures to prevent the publishing of fake news. Hence, the staff verifies the content before publishing it for the readers and views to see or hear. Nri Post does not intend to mislead the readers with images or words. Our goal is not to deceive the readers and viewers. The information gathered by our team is accurate. In case of any errors, we give the readers the freedom to correct us. Nri Post encourages to provide the best possible content piece within the limited resources. 

  • Independence

Nri Post is an independent news agency. We aim to remain free of any external influence and are able to manage conflicts of interest efficiently. We do not believe in external influences, especially when they interfere with fair journalism. Our goal is to provide fair, accurate, helpful, and professional content for our readers and listeners. 

In practice: If a topic or an article which is funded by a sponsor or any external contribution, Nri Post has full editorial control over what it publishes and writes. We also disclose the relationship. If the subject is supported by the sponsor, we still hold total control and independence over the piece of content. We aim to provide facts to those who value journalism. Hence, none of our content will be biased or influenced by an external source/sponsor. Many of the officials at Nri Post have previously worked in newsrooms and so, we might find ourselves writing about newsrooms and organizations we have built a relationship with (check transparency below). Nri Post staff and faculty do not indulge in relationships that compromise the agency’s work. 

We do not accept or allow gifts from sponsors, sources, or any vendors to influence our news coverage. Nri Post does have business partnerships with a number of newsrooms on a global level. Even those partnerships and relationships do not influence the news coverage. 

  • Collaboration

Nri Post encourages such ties with individuals and entities as we rely on them for advice about what the journalists require from us. Nri Post considers collaboration as a prime value: it believes that these partnerships and relationships encourage responsiveness, interactivity, and utility. 

In practice: Nri Post has relationships with a number of individuals and organizations. We rely on these relationships to stay connected to journalism. However, we have full control over all editorial content. There are instances when we turn to our partners to seek professional advice. 

  • Fairness 

As we are believers of fair journalism, we strive to act responsibly (and justly) to respect entities and their privacy. We present different viewpoints and minimize harm to protect people and their need for privacy. 

Our work guidelines serve as balances and checks on personal biases and perspectives that each of us brings to our journalism. 

In practice: Nri Post aims to be fair in what they publish and the ways in which they interact with consumers and subjects of the coverage. At Nri Post, we take the best measures to acknowledge appropriate points of view. We strive to represent those points of view in an unbiased and balanced manner, especially when they are conflicting with Nri Post’s viewpoint. We reach out to the subjects for their comment. Moreover, the company offers accessible ways to challenge us. We are open for discussions and our responses are prompt. 

  • Transparency 

Transparency is an important value for Nri Post. We shall always explain the readers about how and why we make certain decisions. At Nri Post, we strive to disclose important information that may have affected or influenced the decision-making process.

In practice: Nri Post does not shy away from disclosing information that our critics and constituents may find useful or relevant about the ways in which we publish or do business at the Nri Post portals. We equip the readers with sufficient information regarding how we work, who we are, and thereon. This is to provide sufficient information and provide meaningful context for the readers to judge and assess the material we post and teach. We also disclose the business partnerships/relationships when we write about certain individuals who might be a member of our board. 

We also ensure to publish information about all Nri Post events, sponsored content, and native advertisements. Everything that is tagged as ‘sponsored content’ is non-news content. 

The advertisements that promote the sponsored content will be labelled as, ‘advertising.’ When our sponsors underwrite a specific content area on newsletter or Nri Post, that particular content or page is labelled or comes under the header image. Any sponsored item within the Nri Post newsletter will be labelled as a ‘sponsored post’ or ‘a note from the sponsor.’
